Skill Grades
Level 1 (L1):

- This is where it all starts. For riders who have very little or no riding experience and who want to learn to ride more confidently.
- These sessions focus on the fundamental elements of all the skills to help you ride with more confidence, more success and better technique.
- These are the essential skills to take to the trails and riders are introduced to the trails gradually.
- Most of these sessions are held in a 'controlled environment' but finish 'on trail'.

Level 2 (L2)

- Ready to learn more bike handling skills to ride more confidently?
- This level is great for riders who are ready to get more out of their riding, break some bad habits and see the more challenging trails . Ideal for graduates of our Level 1 course or have taken a camp or lesson somewhere before.
- This level is also good for people wanting to develop a more complete skill-set to ride the North Shore.
- These sessions are usually split between 'on-trail' and a 'controlled environment' such as Lee quary bike park.

Level 3 (L3)

- This level is about taking your riding to the next level with a more advanced skill set.
- Be ready to be challenged by skill progressions, bike handling skills and new trails throughout the program.
- All of the programs are run in a safe manner but these sessions are ideal for graduates of our Level 2 courses.
- If you can ride most of the trails but still lack confidence and sound technique, then this is the level for you.
- These programs are designed to give you the added insight to take your riding to the next level.
- Advanced application of skills, faster paced rides, faster paced teaching and progressions as well as more 'trail time'.
- Are you ready for the next step?

Level 4 (L4)
|
- For confident riders who've excelled at previous levels, looking to take their riding to the next level.
- Wanting to improve on steeper terrain, faster descents, more technical features and learn new techniques from the pro's.
- Ideal for graduates of our Level 3 courses.
- You're comfortable with steep terrain, roots and rocks and stunts and want help to clean some really challenging sections.
- Riders will be challenged with more challenging terrain, new trails, new skills and a faster pace.
- Riders in a Level 4 group are expected to have well-tuned full size mountain bikes, necessary equipment and fitness to ride for at least 2 hours at a time at a very fast pace, often on new terrain
